This very old temple is one of the most famous and important (very important buildings or objects) in Indonesia. Borobudur was built in the 8th century and built in the shape of a traditional Buddhist artistic symbol. It is a UNESCO World History site, and is carefully thought about/believed one of the greatest Buddhist places/locations in the world. The huge temple was forgotten for centuries, when it is believed that much of people/of the group moved to easternJava due to volcano-related (sudden explosive shooting up and out of matter)s. But it was rediscovered in the 1800s and, today, is one of the main draws in Java. Visit at sunrise for a torch-light climb up the temple and for the amazing experience of watching as the complex is washed/covered in sunlight. Borobudur lies near Yogyakarta, an old Javanese city known for its rich cultural and historical offerings.
