Chi Lin Nunnery

This peaceful temple complex was founded in 1934 as a retreat for Buddhist nuns, and serves asa peaceful getaway from the city life.
Established in 1934 and (re-did/made new again) in 1990 in the Tang (period of time with the same powerful family rulers) style, the Chi Lin Nunnery is a great complex and also a popularattraction. The temple halls of the nunnery have many statues of importance to Buddhisttraditions made from gold, clay and wood, such as the Sakyamuni Buddha, and the bodhisattvas. The (related to the beautiful design and construction of buildings, etc.) of the complex is striking, using detailed Chinese classical (related to designing and constructing beautiful buildings, structures, etc.) ways of doing things of criss-crossed wood holding the structure into place, without using any nails. The complex has (more than two, but not a lot of) small ponds andlawns. Opposite the Chi Lin Nunnery is the famous Nan Lian Garden, built in the same (related to designing and constructing beautiful buildings, structures, etc.) style to compliment the beautifultemple complex. Both of these attractions can be visited free of cost
