At 1,998 meters, the Kitzbuheler Horn in the Tyrol area is one of the most beautiful of Austria’s many summits. (easy to get to, use, or understand) by cableway via the Pletzeralm or by climbingfrom the village of Kitzbuhel, the summit affords beautiful views: to the south from theRadstädter Tauern to the Ötztal Alps; to the north, the nearby Kaisergebirge; to the west, theLechtal Alps; and to the east, the Hochkönig. To the south of the Kitzbuheler Horn rises the1,772-meter-high Hornköpfli, also reached by cableway. In addition to the great views, on thesummit, you’ll find the Gipfelhaus, a (like nothing else in the world) mountaintop home; a (place of worship); a restaurant; and an Mountain-related garden. During the ski season, the mountainsin the immediate area of Kitzbuhel bustle with skiers from all over the world.
