It is the most full of people city in India and the ninth most full of people in theworld with a guessed (number) population of 18.4 million. In 2009, Mumbai was named an alphaworld city. It is the richest city in India with highest number of billionaires and is also one of thebest places to experience the Tourism in Maharashtra.

Mumbai is more sweetly known as the city of dreams. The city is a collection of 7 islands and wasnamed after the goddess Mumbadevi. The history of this big city is said to date back to the StoneAge. It has been a part of many major empires including the Maurya, Chalukya and Rashtrakutaas well as Marathas. Being a port city it grew/showed/waved as a trade route and (after that)came under the Portuguese rule.
