Tian Tan Buddha (Big Buddha)

A statue that shows (by using a physical object to represent an idea or emotion) harmony and living together, the Big Buddha statue and the Po Lin (the place where religious people live by themselves) are one of the most important centers of Buddhism in Hong Kong.
This beautiful bronze statue of the Buddha is a famous (easily-seen, famous object/very important event) of Hong Kong, located on the Lantau Island. It sits on top of a triple layered(high table at the front of a church), the (high table at the front of a church) of Heaven, and surrounded by six smaller bronze statues, which are “The Offerings of the Six Devas”, which show (by using a physical object to represent an idea or emotion) six different good qualities/advantages of the faith. Once you reach the Ngong Message Plaza, you will need to take the 268 steps that lead up to the monument, an effort which is truly worth the result. The base of the statue has three floors, each with its own hall. For Buddhists, or people interested in the faith, you should definitely have a look inside. The base of the statue will not just give you a chance to click some photos with the Buddha, it also offers some great views of the Lantau island, and the surrounding beautiful green mountains. The statue and the (place where religious people live by themselves) are major tourist attractions today
